Poetry--the spontaneous overflow of ideas

Intoxicating...
(another form of sonnet xii)

Blue aquatic ocean breeze breaks along the tide
Open your blown billow sails let wind collide
Seeing those distant stars with pinpoint clarity
Escape into that universal magnetic polarity
Tomorrow that murmuring celestial moon rises
Casting covert shadows with intrigue surprises
Beneath the velvet down crescent indigo sky
Dancing patterns elevate where constellations lie
Feeling drawn into cosmic consummate intricacy
Tracing delicate patterns with enticing intimacy
Blown by ocean’s tumbling abandon intoxication
Breathe in the incredulous fire of your invitation
Bent beside that geologic seductive tide of elation
Surrender euphoric desire with your invocation

Surrender

looking past the hour glass
across the sands of time
forgive me if I succumb
with the blush and flush
of sweet red wine
or stumble across barriers
of haphazard sentences

where was I when you turned
to glance across that dance floor
finding my words stuck
in the rhythm of sliding doors
I attempt an awkward phrase
that runs like a faucet
cranked open all the way

giddy with elation I
feel less terrified as
your words embrace me
from behind and hold me
suspended as your soft-spoken
voice gently caresses
the taut strings of apprehension
and plays unspoken music
that sings inside my soul

Hapazard Words that Collide
Into Your Reflection. . .

Smearing the steam mirror of your breath
an image distorts through the condensation
Pressing my hand firmly against the glass
Hoping to find you behind the silver lining
Holding out the possibility your face
Will appear once more as I erase
my wish upon that falling star
Sometimes I see you there and
You shine right back at me
through the broken clouds
I trace the outlines of your face
My heart stops to linger so close
But yet so faraway from you
I hold out the possibility
I will meet you out there
somewhere in my dreams
at night I close my eyes
so I might find you
right beside me
